To be like superman fighting evil.. Ofcouse that is but what is courage for common people like us?
I thought about it and the first thing I could come up with, to practice everyday to speak the the truth, be truthful in everything you do.
Why do people lie? Well cause they are cowards, they do not want to face a situation or a tantrum thus to avoid it, they choose to lie or bluff so the matter is over for now.
I have seen people who lie on the smallest thing, even on statements that are not even asked. Some people do not even have the tiniest of the courage to tell why they where late, they think people will judge, well let them, you cannot control anybody’s mind.
Why give a reason to everyone and any one? For this our indian society is at fault. Every one wants reasons and explanations. Do you give money to every beggar or thief who wants it? So people tend to lie just to explain why they missed visiting someone at the hospital. Plain and simple reason can be that you are not close enough or they have genuinely forgot. All these situations demand lies. So why put the person in fix. Why can’t we tell them it’s ok it doesn’t matter or we understand?
” we cannot make it for dinner we have to go to this thing at office which we cant avoid otherwise we would have surely come”
Why you need to give explanations? Why is there this need to please everyone who don’t matter? Think about it that you are making your children into lairs. You tell them, “if somebody asks don’t tell them we were at home, you better keep your mouth shut, otherwise no ice cream for you”
Just 2 days back one of my friends suggested me why dont you tell your husband that our children’s teacher told you to do so, in a second I answered “no I will not do that because I dont lie”. Why should I lie or manupulate to make a stranger happy when I don’t even do that for my self. I am glad I said so, I was carrying my son in my arms and he was listening, when he listens to such ideas, he will learn from examples.
Some parents teach their children duniya bhar ki gyan ki baatien ” beta Bhagwan kehte hai speak the truth”and they act otherwise. Soon they will understand the contradiction they will not even tell you, they will conclude “oh its ok to lie and deceive, mom and dad do it, thats a way of life, badi badi baitien karo phir lie at your convinience, this is how the world works.” Then when they grow up they grow up into supressed and coward individuals lying their way out in life.
For once try this just make a statement no explanation, it will reduce lying 50%.
