As all know, I must have seen 3 Idiots more than 100 times ( I have no count people around me like my husband, my parents, my sister tell me this number)  In fact as many times I have seen this movie, these people are fed up of it,  I regret to say that in this matter unintentionally I have done anti marketing of this movie.

As much as Sid, my husband loved this movie, there was a time in my life when I wasn’t sure what to do in my life as I wasn’t happy in what I was doing, I hated being a chartered accountant and working with numbers was such a pain so to find direction in my life I watched this movie…I remember when Sid would come home from his office, I would either be cooking or doing my excercise and this movie would be playing on the DVD. Day one, day two..day three and so on the same movie, I think after a month his patience was tested, the minute he entered the house he looks at the television and tells me “please shut this movie, I need a break from this 3 Idiots “…poor man.!!..that’s when I realised  maybe secretly he has started hating the movie due to it’s over dose

The dialogues of the movie are repeated my me en number of times in my daily communication , plus everyone refuses to watch the movie with me cause I am continuously chanting the dialogues even before the characters say them….I feel sorry for overdosing people with this movie but I can’t help it, I feel so strongly about it…

In fact I hope my readers don’t start disliking this movie due to my constant reference but then on second thought, I think wait a minute this blog is named due to this movie, it is unavoidable not to mention this movie…

For me this movie changed my life, I have not achieved much, have a long way to go, have lots of dreams to fulfill but this movies fundas have become my foundation of anything I do and thus eventually my goal is excellence….in doing what I love doing…food, photography, now days writing and many more things that I will do…no matter what I do I have learned the honesty of doing work and doing it whole heartedly, no compromise…only then ALL IS WELL 🙂

Few days back, I ordered this book of the movie’s screenplay. For days I waited for the post to come, when it actually came I could not wait to open it. I tore the wrapping like I use to tear return gifts I use to get in birthday parties when I was a child. One bit tear and the book was in my hands….

I am enjoying reading this book, I am so proud of the fact that I have found many mistakes in the screenplay…wow I can’t believe I have seen this movie so many times. The mistakes are very small ones like a omition of a hmm or an extra no…but still I managed  to point them out…

But most important I got to learn how a screenplay is written ,as I am reading this book all the scenes get visualised with the help of words…

What a screenplay, superbly written and it is a difficult screenplay to write as there are multiple layers of action, expressions and when the sequence of events keeps on going  back to the past..so many events happening  ..awesomely written…

I prepared for lunch Indian style baked beans, pasta, buttered veggies and toast.

As  my son was taking his afternoon nap had his full plated lunch and along with it read this book

Also sharing the recipe of this Indian style baked beans

[Serves 3]

1 baked beans tin

2-3 cloves of garlic finely chopped

1 small onion chopped

1 medium capsicum chopped

1 tomato chopped

1 green chili chopped

1 tbsp jeera

1 tbsp butter or olive oil

1 tbsp tomato ketchup

2 tsp chili powder

2 tsp sugar

Salt to taste

In a pan heat the butter, put jeera in it. Let it cook for a few seconds then add the garlic, onions, capsicum. Once the onions are translucent add the tomatoes and cook for another 3 minutes.

Add all the beans, green chilies, tomato ketchup, sugar, red chili powder, salt and cook for about 5 mins or till all the ingredients blends well.

Serve with toast.

Sometimes instead of tomato ketchup, I add Habanero sauce or peri peri sauce to make it spicy.

You can also put the beans on bread, top it up with shredded cheese, sprinkle onions, capsicum and chili flakes and bake it in the oven till the cheese melts.

  1. I’ve never seen this movie but now I kinda want to.
Was the book easy to get or did you have to special order it?
This looks delicious by the way Sanj, perfect portions!

  2. I should watch this movie. I also left my career behind when I left Finance. I disliked the people and their attitudes. I am now writing. I’m finally enjoying what I’m doing. Selling a few e-books a month. But I’m not stressed out.
