When I was a child we travelled to London a few times. For me London has always been special..
London in my memories reminds me of staying at my uncle Naresh’s house, my aunt Joyti would cook amazing food..shopping at Marks and Spencer’s, sharing strawberry yogurt with mom ( during those days we did not get them in India) coleslaw sandwich of marks, thick vinegar drizzled chips from fish and chips, ride on the double decker red bus, London subway and it’s classic black cabs…my little sister learning to walk in marks and spencer holding the clothes racks, picking up a sandwich for lunch from the marks food area, holding my dad’s hand and holding it tight through out the subway journey. For me London was about family times.
We would do our whole yearly shopping of clothes toys etc in London…hence we would be shopping most of the time…
we would mostly be shopping around Oxford street…by the time our shopping was done it would be dark…walking out of the stores the streets would be all lit up…I would just keep looking around…taking in everything, looking at various building lit up…it was so beautiful..finally we would find a black cab for our selves to return …I remember most of the cabs would have the radio on…I would sit on the folding sit behind the drivers seat…and keep on looking at the city lights till we were home..sometimes it would rain as u know its London..can’t trust the weather..I remember looking at the city lights though the watery window of the cab..
In 2012 me and Sid where in London . My cousin Tej, his wife sharli and yash took us out for dinner. I always wanted to do night photography…so I had taken my camera as I walked through the streets of London, feeling nostalgic I enjoyed clicking these images. I specially thank Tej for taking me around and waiting patiently as I stopped to click these images…
